DWP Security Programme

Enabling DWP to operate it's business and online services securely as party of a multi-million transformation

Objective

To enable DWP to operate its business and online services securely as part of a multi-million transformation.

Outcome

An improved security architecture that reduces the risk of cyberthreats, and enables DWP to provide digital services that enable people to access benefits and pensions worth over £500M every day.

“DWP now has increased confidence in our ability to manage cyber risk, thanks in no small part to the efforts and expertise of 2T Security.”

A secure digitally focused organisation

The Department for Works & Pensions is responsible for the administration of benefits and pensions worth an estimated 10% of GDP, reaching millions of people right across the UK. To make services like Universal Credit successful and secure DWP embarked on a reform programme to build an entirely new platform that provides people with a modern online experience when accessing employment benefits. The aim was to develop a fully digital service. 2T Security is a long-term trusted advisor assisting in the development of Universal Credit’s security architecture, and more recently supporting their security programme’s evolving delivery and operating models to address security automation, assurance, and compliance at scale, as well as threat and incident management.
